Arsenal visit Napoli for their final UEFA Champions League Group F with their task clear.
The Gunners must avoid a two goal defeat at Stadio San Paolo in order to be certain of qualification, while a draw or victory in the hostile atmosphere would be enough to seal progress as group winners – therefore avoiding European giants such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Arsene Wenger is able to call upon a near full strength squad, with only Bacary Sagna, Lukas Podolski, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yaya Sanogo left behind in London.
Given the north London outfit’s sensational away form so far this season, with 13 wins and a draw from their last 15 matches on the road – including victories in all UEFA Champions League games at Fenerbahce, Olympique Marseille and Borussia Dortmund – Wenger will be confident that the team he puts out can produce a positive result.
In Wojciech Szczesny, Per Mertesacker, Mathieu Flamini, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud, the spine of the Arsenal side is highly impressive – and the strength in depth of the Gunners is rather stronger than it appeared at the beginning of the season as players return from injury.
Napoli boss Rafa Benitez can call upon Arsenal summer transfer target Gonzalo Higuain, but Liverpool loanee goalkeeper Pepe Reina looks unlikely to start the game after a touch and go fitness test.
Marek Hamsik could make a vital return from injury, while the home fans will no doubt roar on their team, and Arsenal will have to be at their best to secure the result they need in an intense atmosphere.
