Argentinian had been enjoying day out in Capri.
Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is in hospital after reportedly slipping on rocks during a day out in Capri, which has left him with a cut on his jaw.
The 25-year-old made a solid start to life with his new club on Sunday night, helping them to a 3-0 win over Bologna.
The Argentinian international had the ball in the back of the net in the first half, but had his effort ruled out for offside but was nevertheless given a standing ovation by the San Paolo faithful as he was later substituted.
However, there are fears over his safety after La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that whilst enjoying a day on a boat in Capri, the former Real Madrid striker has slipped on rocks and suffered a wound to his face.
It is not yet clear as to how the incident exactly happened, but it has been more or less confirmed by numerous publications in Italy that he was transported to hospital shortly after suffering the injury and is awaiting treatment.
It would undoubtedly come as a blow for Napoli should the bizarre injury cause Higuain to miss out on playing time, but the early media reports suggest that it isn’t too serious.
