De Laurentiis looking to add Julio Cesar, Leandro Damaio or Gonzalo Higuain this summer.
Napoli have reportedly made a bid of €12m for Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol, while also enquiring about Gonzalo Higuain as their raid on the Spanish giants continues.
The Partenopei have already completed the signing of Jose Callejon this summer, but new coach Rafa Benitez is expected to continue his spending in Madrid with a big-money move for centre-back Albiol.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, negotiations are going well between the parties and the 27-year-old is expected to sign a four-year deal with the club, although nothing official has yet been announced.
However, signings from the Spanish capital may not stop there for Benitez, who has also reportedly enquired about Higuain’s situation.
The Argentine striker has been linked with Arsenal throughout the summer, but delays in that move have opened the door for the likes of Chelsea and Napoli to attempt to hijack the move.
It is understood though, that Brazilian international Leandro Damiao remains the priority for Napoli, and club officials are claimed to have met with Internacional executives in order to come to an agreement over the striker’s valuation.
As reported by Gazzetta, Napoli have made a bid of €22m which has still fallen short of the Brazilian outfit’s price-tag for the 23-year-old, but it is believed that they are edging closer to agreeing a fee as well as personal terms.
Another player who seems destined for Naples though is QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar, with official confirmation of the move set to be announced in the coming days.
