The German playmaker has spent the last three months on the sidelines whilst the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck have thrived, and could return to face Stoke at the Emirates on January 11th.
Ozil is yet to find top form for the north London side this season following his impressive debut campaign last term, but the 26-year-old admitted he is relishing the opportunity to fight for some much needed silverware upon his return to action.
“I worked hard, with Klaus Eder in Donaustauf and with Arsenal, and I want to finally return to the field. Watching [Arsenal whilst being] injured has been very bitter for me,” he said.
“I really want to help my teams catch up. Arsenal and the national team.
“In the Premier League anything can happen. A lot can also happen in the Champions League, and we [Germany] are still involved in the European Championship qualifiers, where we need to score.”
