Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels is prepared to snub Arsenal this summer if it means he can join Manchester United.
The Daily Star claim Jurgen Klopp’s decision to quit the club at the end of the season has pushed Hummels over the edge and the German has decided he too will exit BVB.
Both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing the 26-year-old but the Star say Hummels only has eyes for Old Trafford.
If true it would finally conclude one of the longest and most protracted transfer affairs of recent memory with United trying over the summer, before the World Cup, to work a deal for the Dortmund centre-back.
United are hopeful a £30 million bid would be enough to convince Borussia Dortmund to relinquish one of their prize assets.
A move for Hummels would likely be one of a number of United deals in the summer to try and catapult themselves back into Premier League title contention after a season of rebuilding.
