The manager reveals that Fabio and Zaha are ready to link up with the Bluebirds.
After much speculation Manchester United manager David Moyes has confirmed that Fabio da Silva and Wilfried Zaha will join Cardiff City.
Fabio’s deal will be permanent, whilst Zaha will play for the Bluebirds on-loan until the end of the season as the winger has struggled to get game time at Old Trafford.
“We’re delighted for Fabio because he has been a great servant,” Moyes told the United website.
“We wish him well. He had one or two options but, in the end, we felt we couldn’t get him enough games.
“I said to the players, if you feel I’m not getting you enough games, come and see me. Fabio felt that so he’s got a move to Cardiff.
“With Wilfried Zaha, I’d said to him during the summer that we wanted to get him games. If he played, then great, but if he couldn’t, we’d get him out on loan.
“We had one or two offers for him but just felt Cardiff, at this moment in time, might be the right club.
“With Ole going there as well, he knows how the club works here and exactly what we do with the players so hopefully it will be a good move for Wilf.”
Clearly the fact that Red Devils legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken over as boss at the Cardiff City Stadium has swung the deal in favour of the Bluebirds.
The Welsh side had wanted to bring in both players on a temporary basis, but that would have breached the Premier League’s rules about the amount of players a team can have on-loan from other clubs in the same division.
Fabio leaves United after joining six years ago along with twin brother Rafael and played 56 matches for the English champions in all competitions.
Zaha meanwhile was the final signing of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at the club after signing from Crystal Palace 12 months ago, although has failed to break into the first team and has made just four appearances this campaign.
