Benfica name their price for Matic to the Red Devils.
Former Chelsea and current Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic is a target for Manchester United but the Portuguese club say it will take £20m to land the Serb, according to the Mirror.
The 25-year-old spent two years at Stamford Bridge although never started a game for the Blues and was eventually used as a makeweight in the David Luiz deal.
Yet since arriving in the Primeira Liga, Matic has started to realise the potential that the west London club thought they would see from the midfield ace.
The Serbia international has played 90 matches for Benfica in all competitions since arriving in Lisbon a little over two years ago, as well as earning nine caps for the national team.
United have sent scouts to watch Matic twice and are desperate to sign reinforcement in the middle of the park in January.
The Premier League champions are likely to face competition from Napoli however.
The Red Devils are said to be lacking creativity in midfield this season, with £27.5m signing Maroaune Fellaini not having the desired impact as yet.
That being said Matic is in fact a defensive midfielder and David Moyes may be drafting the Serbian in so Fellaini can enjoy a more advanced role.
Fans at Old Trafford may be happier with a more attacking addition to the squad though, with stars such as Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley already at the club.
