Rafael and the Dutchman will not play against Norwich.
Interim manager Ryan Giggs has revealed that Rafael and Robin van Persie will be missing for his first game in charge of Manchester United.
The Premier League champions play Norwich City on Saturday without David Moyes in the dugout for the first time this season, after the Scot was sacked on Tuesday after just 10 months in charge.
Giggs was given the job of managing the Red Devils until the end of the season and has given his team news ahead of the clash with the Canaries.
Ryan confirmed to #MUTV that everyone’s fit bar Rafael and @Persie_Official. “The players have looked great all week, they’ve looked sharp.”

Rafael has managed 29 appearances in all competitions this season as the Brazilian has struggled with fitness and Moyes’ unpopular rotation policy.
The 23-year-old has had to compete with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and at times even Antonio Valencia, for a place in the starting XI.
As for van Persie, the Netherlands international has also had a number of injuries in 2013/14 which has made the striker’s impact on the team much less positive than his first campaign at Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old has still managed to score 17 goals in 25 matches, but has struggled to adapt when both Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata are also in the side.
This has led to speculation over van Persie’s future with United and whoever is named as the next permanent manager at the club could well play a big part in that decision.
