The Premier League leaders are weighing up a summer bid for the France Under 19 centre back. Scouts at the club have recommended the player to United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and it is rumoured that he now sees Zouma as the long-term replacement for aging Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic.
Zouma is widely regarded as a star of the future and United will face a battle for the player’s signature should they decide to make a move.
Arsenal are also said to be keeping a close eye on the player while his current club St. Etienne are desperate to hold onto him and have offered him a new contract in a bid to persuade the starlet to extend his stay with the Ligue 1 side.
It is only a matter of time before the player moves on though and it is thought that a bid in the region of £8 million would persuade the French club to bring his time with Les Verts to an end.
