Red Devils eye defender and midfielder.
Manchester United are ready to offer £28m to land PSV pair Jetro Willems and Kevin Strootman in January, reports CaughtOffside.
Red Devils’ scouts are understood to have been monitoring the Dutch duo for several months and boss Sir Alex Ferguson is now ready to test PSV’s resolve with a concrete bid in January.
Strootman, 22, is reportedly regarded as a long-term replacement for veteran midfield maestro Paul Scholes and the Netherlands international has been on fine form since joining the Eredivisie giants 18 months ago from Utrecht.
Ferguson is also keen to lure left-back Willems away from Holland, as he seeks to find a replacement for French veteran Patrice Evra.
The teenage left-back was one of the few bright spots in the Netherland’s disastrous Euro 2012 campaign and the 18-year-old has continued to impress in the PSV first team this season under new boss Dick Advocaat.
Though United signed Dutchman Alexander Buttner in the summer, Ferguson has handed the former Vitesse man just one Premier League appearance thus far this season and believes Willems has the potential to be a big star at Old Trafford.
