Moyes has not given up hope just yet on Fellaini and Baines.
Everton are bracing themselves for another double bid from Manchester United for their two stars Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, reports the Mirror.
United’s last bid of £28m was rejected by the Toffees and labeled as ‘derisory and insulting,’ but this has not deterred the Premier League champions and £10m is about to be added to that figure.
The new £38m offer will be closer to the £25m and £15m Roberto Martinez wants for the 40-year-old’s two best players and the Spaniard is keen for a deal to be completed soon in order to recruit replacements.
Martinez wants to bring in Wigan Athletic ace James McCarthy, but with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur also showing interest, the coach will need to act quickly.
It’s believed that both Baines and Fellaini are keen on a switch to Old Trafford, but unlike other want-away stars in the division such as Gareth Bale, the duo have continued to act professionally and give their all for the Merseyside outfit.
The left-back would like to move to the English champions.
Moyes wants to strengthen the Red Devils’ squad with the Scot’s former players and with United desperate for a new midfielder since the retirement of Paul Scholes, Fellaini could be the ideal acquisition.
Baines meanwhile is currently recognised as one of the best full-backs in the country and is preferred by many as starting choice ahead of Ashley Cole for the England national team.
Martinez would face a tough task if the manager were to lose both men as in the past few years the pair have been arguably the club’s best players.
