Red Devils could pounce for unsettled Spurs ace.
Manchester United could make a surprise bid for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Belgian international may be available this winter after struggling to impress new manager Mauricio Pochettino this season, finding himself out of favour in the starting lineup.
Still, the 27-year-old has previously shown himself to be one of Europe’s top defenders, able to play to good effect at either centre-back or left-back.
His versatility could make him a useful signing for United, who missed out on a similar player in Thomas Vermaelen in the summer, as he chose to leave Arsenal for Barcelona instead of Old Trafford.
