Submit a transfer request or commit to Man United, Moyes tells Rooney.
Manchester United boss David Moyes has told unsettled striker Wayne Rooney to submit a transfer request or fully commit to the Old Trafford club, according to the Daily Mirror.
Rooney has been the subject of two rejected bids from Chelsea this summer and, with United unwilling to sell the England striker, Moyes has issued a tough ultimatum.
The 27-year-old forward was barely featured for the Red Devils in pre-season with a number of niggling injuries restricting him to just a 45 minute cameo behind closed doors against Real Betis.
Moyes confirmed that the former Everton man would not be fit for Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial or Friday or the Community Shield clash with Wigan Athletic the following Sunday.
“I don’t think he is going to be fit and available. Of course we are still hoping he will, but I have a feeling he won’t make it.”
The new United boss is aware the forward is unlikely to be fit for the start of the season but Moyes is prepared to exclude Rooney from first team duties if he does not make up his mind.
