Can the Citizens bounce back following defeat in the FA Cup.
After Arsenal were eliminated by Bayern Munich on Tuesday, Manchester City are the next Premier League club with a huge task in the Champions League last-16 against Barcelona.
Following a shock defeat at the Etihad Stadium to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, manager Manuel Pellegrini will be keen for the Citizens to bounce back with a positive result.
However, in Barca they face one of the best teams in European football and here is how fanatix thinks City will lineup in the Nou Camp.
GK – Joe Hart
Was left out of the loss to Wigan at the weekend and should return between the sticks for this crucial tie, as a much more experienced pair of hands than Costel Pantilimon.
RB – Pablo Zabaleta
Was also rested on Sunday in place of Micah Richards, with the Englishman getting a rare opportunity at right-back, but expect the Argentine to be back in the starting XI for this clash.
CB – Vincent Kompany
Again Pellegrini left Kompany out of the team against the Latics – we can see why they lost now – but will be vital in keeping Lionel Messi and co quiet in Catalonia.
CB – Joleon Lescott
With Martin Demichelis suspended for a red card in the first-leg and Matija Nastasic still struggling with a knee injury, Lescott will have the difficult task of filling in at the back.
LB – Gael Clichy
Left-back has been something of a problem area for City this season and we expect Pellegrini to enter the transfer market in the summer, but with more defensive nous Clichy should get the nod ahead of Aleksandar Kolarov.
