City join chase for long-time United transfer target.
Manchester United look set to face competition from rivals Manchester City in their bid to sign Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, according to the Sun.
The experienced Brazil international is available on a free transfer this summer as he stalls on signing a new contract at the Nou Camp, with the Premier League believed to be his preferred destination.
Alves has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Juventus in recent months, but it seems that the two Manchester clubs are currently leading the charge for his signature.
The 31-year-old is on the lookout for a three-year contract with wages of around £100,000 per week.
