Reds misfit linked with return to his old side.
Inter Milan could take a gamble on signing Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star.
The Italian international has struggled badly since his £16m move from AC Milan this summer, and is now wanted back at the San Siro by another of his former clubs.
Managed by his old Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, Inter could make a surprise early move for Balotelli, whose future at Anfield is already in serious doubt.
With no goals in the Premier League so far, the 24-year-old has looked badly off the pace this season and has also been linked with Napoli in recent times.
