The Welsh club want Sterling.
Swansea City are aiming to make a January loan move for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling as the Welsh side attempt to improve their season, according to the Mirror.
With the Reds looking to sign FC Basel star Mohamed Salah in the transfer window the Swans want to swoop in for the 19-year-old.
Michael Laudrup’s side have been linked with Sterling in the past, although the youngster has been enjoying a good campaign at Anfield and it’s unclear whether the Merseysiders would be willing to allow the starlet to leave.
Fellow wingers Suso and Oussama Assaidi were loaned out in the summer, but the Englishman was retained and has had particularly impressive displays against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
However, as Swansea are a former side of Rodgers and also play a fast, attacking game based on technique and passing, the Northern Irishman may be glad of Sterling obtaining some experience at the Liberty Stadium.
Since breaking into the first team in the summer of 2012 the England international has made 55 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing nine assists.
Sterling was originally at QPR as a youth player but was brought to the north of England in 2010 and has since progressed promisingly on Merseyside.
In fact England boss Roy Hodgson was so impressed that the 66-year-old gave the youngster the winger’s one and only cap to date for the senior team in 2013.
The potential arrival of Salah would limit Sterling’s opportunities though and the player may welcome more game time in south Wales.
