The Spanish giants have turned their attentions to Manchester City’s brilliant Argentine…
Real Madrid will try to sign Manchester City’s Argentine forward Sergio Aguero instead of Liverpool’s outstanding Uruguayan Luis Suarez, reports the Sunday Star.
The two forwards currently lead the Premier League goal-scoring charts with eight strikes apiece, and along with Robin Van Persie, are regarded as the best strikers in the country.
Real Madrid sold Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli during the summer, and have only the disgruntled Karim Benzema as an established centre-forward option. Because of this, they are willing to bring in a world superstar for huge money, and have now targeted former Atletico Madrid man Aguero as a priority transfer.
This news will no doubt be devastating to Suarez, who has made no secret of his desire to eventually join the Spanish giants.
The Uruguayan actively tried to leave Liverpool in the summer, but his club refused to sell, meaning he is once again enduring a season without the Champions league football his talent undoubtedly deserves.
Aguero is one of the few Premier League players that possesses Suarez’s talent though, and is also use to playing in La Liga. On top of this, he doesn’t come with nearly as much baggage as Suarez, and it’s thought that Madrid see him as much less of a risk than Liverpool’s 26-year-old.
