Reds remain hopeful of signing Ligue 1 hitmen.
Liverpool remain hopeful of signing either Radamel Falcao or Edinson Cavani before the end of the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Reds are in the market for a big name signing upfront after losing Luis Suarez in a £75m move to Barcelona this summer, and AS Monaco star Falcao is believed to be Brendan Rodgers’ main target in that position.
However, the Colombian international has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, and that may scupper any chance of him lining up at Anfield next season.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Cavani would then be Liverpool’s second choice, though the Uruguayan internationa has also been linked with Arsenal in this transfer window and will probably only be allowed to leave if the French champions can sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid.
