Another dubious claim from Spanish daily Marca…
Liverpool have ready to do business with Real Madrid for Luis Suarez, to make sure the brilliant Uruguayan doesn’t eventually join Arsenal, reports Spanish daily Marca.
Suarez has set the Premier League on fire this term, but for the right reasons. Since returning from his 10 match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic last season, he’s scored eight goals in just six league matches. The only player in Europe with a better striker rate than that is Madrid’s own Cristiano Ronaldo.
Suarez actively tried to leave Anfield during the summer in search of the Champions League football his talent undoubtedly deserves. His club refused all offers from Arsenal however, because they didn’t want to sell to a Premier League rival.
Madrid on the other hand were focused on the £85m Gareth Bale deal, meaning the Reds managed to hold on ot their star striker for the time being at least.
Marca reckon that Liverpool would much prefer to sell Suarez to Real Madrid than a Premier League rival, and would even be prepared to accept a substantially lower offer of around £47m to ensure this happens.
Suarez would almost certainly jump at the chance to move to La Liga, but it remains to be seen whether Madrrid will move for him in January or next summer.
