Reds switch focus to Bernabeu legend.
Liverpool could attempt to sign Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas if their move for Victor Valdes falls through, according to the Daily Express.
The Reds are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper to compete for Simon Mignolet’s number one spot, and are widely believed to be closing in on a deal to land former Barcelona shot-stopper Valdes on a free transfer.
However, there are some concerns over the player’s recent injury holding up a deal, and Brendan Rodgers is now thought to be considering a move for the out-of-favour Casillas as an alternative.
Despite a recent dip in form, the Spanish international has been one of the best keepers in the modern era, and could make a useful signing for the Merseyside giants.
