Brendan Rodgers is looking to Serie A for a new Anfield hero…
Liverpool are attempting to sign Roma playmaker Miralem Pjanic as a replacement for the soon to depart Steven Gerrard, reports the Daily Mirror.
However, it could cost the Merseyside club dearly. The Serie A side want at least €50 million (approximately £37.1m) for what is one of their best players, and Brendan Rodgers may have to offer the Bosnian £160,000 a week in wages to get him to join. The Northern Irishman reportedly travelled to Rome to find out the huge sums involved last week.
If the Reds are put off a move for the midfielder by his price tag, then they have also been looking at two of his teammates. Radja Nainggolan and Adem Ljajic also play in central midfield, and could be available for a less eye watering fee.
Liverpool are searching for a new player to take the place of departing legend Steven Gerrard. The former England captain is joining LA Galaxy in the summer.
