Midfield anchorman has been included in the squad for tomorrow’s match.
Brazilian midfield enforcer Lucas Leiva has been named by Brendan Rodgers for Liverpool’s fixture against Southampton tomorrow after a lengthy 3-month absence due to a thigh injury. He will most likely start on the bench at Anfield, but has expressed his delight and relief at being fit again.

“I am really excited to be involved…I have been out for a long time…but I am really looking forward to the weekend. It’s another step forward.” Lucas told the club’s official website.
He has also been very grateful for the support he received from his teammates, manager and fans during his spell on the touchline.
“These are the small things that really mean a lot and they keep you going. Now it’s the time for me to repay that and help them.”
The feelings of gratitude because of his return are likely reciprocated, as Liverpool enters a crucial period of the season leading up to Christmas.
