Inter Milan starlet could make Anfield switch.
Liverpool have launched an ambitious £8m bid for Inter Milan winger Philippe Coutinho, after growing increasingly frustrated in their efforts to land Blackpool’s Tom Ince, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Brazilian midfielder Coutinho was once considered the next superstar of South American football but the youngster has struggled since joining the Nerrazzuri.
Reds boss Brenden Rodgers may have to increase his initial bid if he wants to sign the 20-year-old, who has started just three Serie A games for Inter this season.
Coutinho has already played for the senior Brazilian side and can operate in a variety of positions, including on both flanks and behind the striker.
The former Vasco da Gama starlet, who impressed on loan at Espanyol last term, would fit the prototype signing of Liverpool’s US owners, Fenway Sports Group, who want Rodgers to target young and emerging international talent.
Blackpool are refusing to budge on their valuation of 20-year-old Ince, believed to be in excess of £6m, and the Anfield club has reportedly lost patience in negotiations with the Seasiders.
