Rivals in competition to sign £26m man.
Liverpool and Arsenal are in competition to sign Manchester City midfielder James Milner on a free transfer next summer, according to the Daily Express.
The England international, who joined City for £26m from Aston Villa back in 2010, has been a reliable squad player for the club but now seems intent on a new challenge.
Milner may want to play more regularly, something Liverpool and Arsenal could be ready to offer him if he does not renew his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The 28-year-old can move on a free at the end of the season and would make a great piece of business for any club that can land him.
