Serie A side unwilling to sell Italian international midfielder.
English sides Liverpool and Tottenham may not be able to secure the services of one of their top midfield targets in Antonio Candreva, reports the Daily Star.
The 27-year-old Lazio man is known for his versatile qualities and can play on the wings as well as through the middle, which caught the attention of two of the Premier League’s top clubs.
Candreva has 21 national team caps for Italy since making his debut back in 2009, and has been reinstated in the Azzurri’s World Cup squad on the back of some good performances for Lazio last term.
While he could be a good addition for both Liverpool and Spurs, Lazio’s reluctance to sell will make it extremely hard for them to land their man. Candreva, though, has expressed a desire to move on from the Italian capital in order to feature in the Champions League, but his preferred option is yet to be determined with French giants Paris Saint Germain also after his services.
Meanwhile, reiterating their stance about Candreva, Lazio issued a statement saying, “Candreva is not for sale. We have not spoken to anyone from PSG and we have not received any offers.”
