Premier League giants fight for Hoffenheim winger Kevin Volland…
Liverpool and Arsenal are both interested in Hoffenheim’s young winger Kevin Volland, and could make a £12m offer for his services when the transfer window opens in January, reports the Mirror.
Volland is a typical modern winger, and plays on the right flank despite being very left-footed. By cutting in on to his favoured boot, the youngster has already managed to score seven goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances.
As a result of his excellent form, both Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in buying Volland at the next possible opportunity…
Liverpool badly need more attacking wing options, and Volland would definitely ease the goalscoring burden from Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, and enable Brendan Rodgers to play the 4-3-3 formation more easily. Due to the current lack of strength in Liverpool’s wide areas, Rodgers has instead used a wing-back formation or a more narrow 4-3-1-2 for most of this season.
While Arsenal have attacking midfield talent in abundance, Arsene Wenger reckons Volland is set for the very top, and is still keen to bring him in ahead of their rivals. Volland may be more tempted to move to the Emirates, with German players Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Serge Gnabry already shining in North London.
