Two European giants go head-to-head tonight as Inter Milan face Real Madrid in the third match of the International Champions Cup.
Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has already added to his star-studded team this summer, completing deals for two standout players from the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Both German midfielder Toni Kroos and Colombian forward James Rodriguez have now joined the squad, and will be eager to impress their new manager.
By contrast, Inter’s summer recruitment has taken in the 32-year-old ex-Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic, as well as the temperamental French midfield destroyer Yann M’Vila, with the Serie A side continuing their rebuilding process after a couple of difficult years.
Despite the star names and rich history of both clubs, it’s likely to be younger, squad players strutting their stuff under the California sun tonight.
Both teams are part of ‘Pool A’ alongside Manchester United and Roma, who kick-off just under an hour earlier. Pool B consists of Liverpool, Manchester City, Olympiacos and AC Milan. The two latter teams played the opening match of the tournament on Thursday, with the Greeks winning 3-0.
