There has been some significant interest in the striker from the Premier League recently, and though Spanish champions Atletico Madrid have also entered the race Icardi is believed to prefer a move to England instead.
Jose Mourinho has been circling the 21-year-old for some time, and is thought to be keen on granting him his wish next month.
Inter are not enamoured with the thought of letting the striker leave, but are aware they may need to cash in on his signature in order to fund moves for PSG’s Ezequiel Lavezzi and Spurs’ Erik Lamela.
Earlier this month Inter director Piero Fassone said: “I’ve learned that no player is off the market in football, it doesn’t work that way.
“It’s possible to keep Icardi and Kovacic although there are other clubs have more appeal than us.
