Seattle Seahawks DT Brandon Mebane is out for the year after suffering a torn hamstring against the New York Giants this past Sunday.
The 29-year-old Mebane has started 65 consecutive regular season games for the Seahwks and has recorded 20 tackles and one sack this season.
Mebane is the third defensive lineman from their Superbowl squad that will not be with the Seahawks for a playoff run – DEs Red Bryant and Chris Clemons both left in free agency this past summer. Former All-Pro DT Kevin Williams is expected to take over for Mebane.
The Seahawks have struggled with injuries all season, with 16 players listed on the injury report this past week.
