Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel suffered a torn triceps injury in Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints.
The Steelers announced that they will place the veteran defensive end on injured reserve. The heavily bearded man is now 36 years old, so his time in the NFL may be coming to an end soon.
He agreed to a two-year contract in the 2014 offseason, so he is expected to stick around for the 2015 season. He provides a stable locker room presence that will be missed by the Steelers as they try to contend for a playoff spot.
Here is a tweet from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reporting on Keisel’s injury status.
