Arsenal fans will finally get the chance to see supposed wonder kid Wellington Silva in action after he took to Twitter to prove that he has now finally acquired a Spanish passport, meaning that he can now bypass the bureaucracy that prevented him from turning out for the side.
Having signed for the Gunners back in 2011 for a fee of £3.5 million from Brazilian giants Fluminense, he has been unable to make his debut for the Gunners thanks to his failure to obtain a work permit.
He has since undergone loan spells with the likes of Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina and Murcia, though he is now spending the season with Almeria.
But his Spanish exile will now come to an end at the conclusion of the current campaign after he was issued with a Spanish passport this week to become an EU citizen.
And though he is expected to make a splash in north London, he faces competition from the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanxhez, Mesut Ozil and even Serge Gnabry and the returning Joel Campbell.
