Arsenal’s long term transfer target Julian Draxler is closing in on a comeback from injury, with the German training in an oxygen mask for FC Schalke 04.
Arsenal have long been linked with the signing of Julian Draxler from FC Schalke 04, and were believed to have come close to agreeing a deal in the January transfer window – though the Bundesliga club refused to budge from their €45 million (£37.1m) valuation.
The Germany international is currently recovering from injury, but is closing in on a comeback – as this image of his training illustrates.
Draxler is quoted as telling Schalke’s Twitter account: “Training is very intense now. I burn on my comeback, but will not rush!”
A fit Draxler would be a great asset to the Gelsenkirchen side in the remaining months of the season, with the 20 year-old having scored five goals and provided eight assists in his 24 matches for Schalke so far this term, after 13 goals and seven assists in 2012-13.
