The brilliant German assisted the on-form Frenchman for Arsenal’s opener…
Mesut Ozil, Arsenal’s new £42m record-signing, made his debut against Sunderland yesterday in the Gunners’ 3-1 away win, and put in a stellar performance.
He assisted Olivier Giroud’s opener, and has celebrated his fantastic debut on his Instagram page.
Ozil uploaded a picture of himself with his French teammate, and has included the caption:
“3-1. I am so proud to be a member of this team.”
Arsenal now top the league after their third win on the trot, with Chelsea losing to Everton, and Liverpool not playing until Monday evening.
Ozil has added the genuine star quality needed in Arsenal’s final third, and few would be surprised if Arsene Wenger’s side now went on to mount a serious title challenge.
