The Houston Texans hit the road to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, and they will be looking to avoid a third straight loss.
Pittsburgh (3-3) have alternated wins and losses throughout the season thus far, and they will be hoping that trend continues on Monday after their defeat to the Cleveland Browns last time out.
Nevertheless, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has insisted that this is no time to panic as they sit bottom of the AFC North and he will look to be a leader for the hosts on Monday as they aim to extend an impressive home run which has seen them win six of their last eight games at Heinz Field.
However, coming off the back of his worst performance of the season coupled with the fact that he has been sacked 17 times for the second-highest total in the NFL heading into Week 7, JJ Watt will be looking to make a significant impact for the Texans.
Houston’s star defensive end leads the NFL with 20 hits on quarterbacks this season and he also has four of his team’s 10 sacks. In addition, rookie linebacker Jadeveon Clowney could be set to return after undergoing surgery in Week 1 and it is understood that the No.1 pick has a 50-50 chance of playing.
The Texans will have to try to avoid another slow start which has been a weak link in their performances in recent weeks, and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a guilty party for that.
Pittsburgh won the most recent meeting between the two teams at Heinz Field which came back in 2008 in a 38-17 victory, although the Texans claimed the spoils in their last clash in 2011 with a 17-10 win. The two franchises are locked at 2-2 in previous meetings.
