Three Lions are glad to have him back, says national coach.
England manager Roy Hodgson has singled out Arsenal midfield player Jack Wilshere for special praise ahead of the visit of Brazil to Wembley next week.
There are still QPR v Arsenal tickets available for the Premier League clash at Loftus Road on April 4.
The 21-year-old has been called up by Hodgson for the friendly on Wednesday having only returned to full fitness for the North Londoners last October following a 14-month layoff with an ankle injury.
However, Wilshere has since proved to be the Gunners’ most effective performer in the intervening period, and Hodgson is looking forward to having the player available for selection once again.
“We gave him a chance against Sweden, maybe earlier than Arsene Wenger and I would have liked. Jack took to it like a duck to water,” Hodgson said.
“He is getting better and better and has proved his worth. It is not right to compare him with other youngster like Wilfried Zaha, Raheem Sterling, Jonjo Shelvey etc (all picked for the Under-21s).
“You have to give Wilshere the credit that he has established himself as a first-team player.
“Any player who can do the job for Arsenal in the Premier League and succeed in a certain position can do it for his national team.”
