Koscielny set to extend his stay with the club but Sagna’s exit is imminent.
There was mixed news from Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger as the manager confirms Laurent Koscielny is close to signing a new deal, but Bacary Sagna is likely to leave.
Ahead of the Gunners’ final Premier League match of the season on Sunday, Wenger has said that Koscielny will be extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

However, despite long running negotiations it seems that Sagna’s time in north London will come to an end this summer when the full-back’s contract expires.
Also sounded ominous on Sagna. Of Koscielny’s contract, Wenger said “It’s close to being closed.” Of Sagna “It’s not close to being closed”.

Both of the Frenchmen have been in fine form for the club this term and it will be disappointing to most fans to see Sagna leave.
The 31-year-old joined from Auxerre in 2007 and since then has gone onto be considered by many to be the finest right-back of Wenger’s 18 year reign.
It’s likely that the side will now have to enter the transfer market for a replacement, with question marks remaining of the capabilities of backup Carl Jenkinson.
As for Koscielny, the France international has formed a brilliant central defensive partnership with Per Mertesacker this campaign and has been among the best defenders in the entire division.
