Fremantle midfielder Nat Fyfe will undergo shoulder surgery later this week, ruling him out of the early stages of the AFL club’s pre-season.
Fyfe strained an AC joint in his right shoulder last week while playing in an International Rules trial match in Sydney, with a specialist confirming that the star youngster requires minor surgery.
The 23-year-old has struggled with left shoulder issues in the past, and the Dockers will be hoping the injury to his right shoulder will not cause significant problems in the future.
Fyfe was ruled out of Australia’s 10-point win over Ireland in Perth on Saturday due to the injury.
