Striker favours St James’ Park switch.
Marseille striker Loic Remy wants to join Newcastle this month and is not interested in a move to QPR, according to French daily L’Equipe.
The Hoops reportedly saw a £6.5m bid for the powerful Frenchman rejected this week but are expected to return with an improved offer.
But Remy is ready to reject a move to Loftus Road and is hoping to join Alan Pardew’s French revolution at Newcastle.
The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour with new boss Eli Baup at the Stade Veldrome, despite finishing as the club’s top scorer in the previous two seasons.
Tottenham and Chelsea were also credited with an interest in Remy last summer but it is understood that the Toon and QPR remain the only serious contenders for Remy’s signature.
The France international scored more headed goals than anyone in Europe last season and can play on the right wing or as a central striker.
Newcastle have already added right-back Mathieu Debuchy to their burgeoning ranks of Les Bleus stars; Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa and Slyvain Marveaux are among the other Gallic stars currently at St James’ Park.
