Five ways that the Gunners can ensure they win the North London derby.
Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur this evening in the first North London derby of the season – a fixture filled with passion and tension which is always a highlight of the Premier League calendar, with goals usually on the menu when these two bitter rivals face off.
The Gunners are favourites for the clash against a Spurs side who have started the season in different form under new manager Mauricio Pochettino – but they need to do these five things to make sure that they pocked not just the three points but also local bragging rights come the final whistle:
Get under the skin of Emmanuel Adebayor
Arsenal are well aware of the enigmatic talents of their former striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who is likely to lead the line on his own for Spurs this evening. The Togolese forward’s contributions against the Gunners since leaving have ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous, a fact which Arsenal will known all too well. If they are able to get tight on him and frustrate Adebayor then he is prone to either hiding or getting sent off, as he did when these sides met two years ago.
