Cesc Fabregas says he could return to Arsenal when he finishes his time at FC Barcelona.
FC Barcelona playmaker Cesc Fabregas says that he hopes to return to Arsenal one day, as his time with the Gunners remains a hugely fond memory.
Fabregas was signed by Arsenal at the age of 16, played in the UEFA Champions League final by 18, and was made captain at the age of 21.
Other than the fact his only trophy with the Gunners was a single FA Cup trophy in 2005, Fabregas has only positive memories of his time with Arsenal, and suggested that he’d love to return to Emirates Stadium – whether as player or coach.
“Arsenal is in my heart and always will be,” Fabregas told the Guardian.
“I don’t know if I’ll have the opportunity to go back and play there one day, or maybe after football.
“It’s a club that is always going to be there and will always open its doors to me.
“The club’s like a family so even if it wasn’t as a coach, I’m sure they’d give me the chance to play a role. Sol [Campbell] is there now.
“Arsenal help a lot with the formation of coaches. [Dennis] Bergkamp also went there two, three times a week when he was doing his coaching badges.
“In that sense it’s a lovely club and there might be the chance to do something with them.”
