Two-goal Barcelona ace relishes opposition fan taunts.
Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed he relished the boos from Manchester City supporters as he returned to England for the first time since leaving Liverpool in the summer, according to CaughtOffside.
The Uruguayan scored twice for the visitors as they claimed a crucial 2-1 first-leg victory at the Etihad Stadium, and says he was spurred on to perform by the jeers of the City fans.
“Obviously it is pleasing, first of all to be able to help the team with important goals in a Champions League knockout game [and] of course to come back to England and [win] against a team you’re always motivated to play against,” he said.
“There are certain types of players like me who get more inspired, more motivated when fans boo them – it helps motivate you a bit more.”
