The FA Cup fifth round is upon us and it’s an all Premier League clash at Goodison Park as Everton host Swansea City.
The Toffees have been in superb form this season in the league and are still in with a realistic chance of a European place for next year’s Europa League or even Champions League.
It’s a different story for the Swans who have struggled somewhat this campaign after the success of a top 10 finish and League Cup triumph in 2012/13.
They have also recently sacked manager Michael Laudrup, with former captain Garry Monk having taken over the role until the end of the season.
The hosts were given an unexpected break midweek when their league match with Crystal Palace was postponed due to high winds on Merseyside, whilst Swansea battled for a well earned point away at Stoke City.
Roberto Martinez’s men have also been in good form in this competition, with successive 4-0 victories over QPR and Stevenage in previous rounds and could hand a debut to on-loan striker Lacina Traore.
The Ivory Coast international has not played since a January move from AS Monaco, whilst fellow loanee Romelu Lukaku and defender Antolin Alcaraz remain sidelined through injury.
Monk will take a late fitness test on attacker Michu before the match, whilst new signings David Ngog and Martin Emnes are cup-tied.
