Merseysiders Everton are looking to snap up Italian international forward Alessio Cerci from under Arsenal and Man United’s noses, reports the Daily Express.
Cerci has attracted some considerable interest from the Gunners, who are desperate to add a versatile attacker to their setup before the new season begins in August. The 26-year-old can play all across the front three and would lend Arsene Wenger’s team plenty of balance, but the North Londoners are likely to face some stiff competition for his services from the Toffees.
Cerci will be allowed to leave his current club Torino for an offer of around £10 million, and Everton boss Roberto Martinez sees him as the ideal forward to fit into his limited budget at Goodison Park as he strives to replace last season’s loan star Romelu Lukaku, who has returned to Chelsea.
Martinez had also been hoping to bring Lukaku back to the club this summer, but is acutely aware of the interest that surround him, and the fee that Chelsea are likely to ask for.
Manchester United are also believed to be interested in the 12 time capped Italian international, who netted 13 goals in 37 games last term, which could make for an exciting 3 horse race for the forward this summer.
