Australia and England will be hoping for some sunshine in Manchester after being forced to sit on the sidelines in Leeds and watch their first one-day international of the series be lost due to rain.
There is a 30 per cent chance of rain at Old Trafford this afternoon as the fickle English weather continues to play havoc with the summer of cricket.
Australia will be desperate to finish their tour of England on a high when the tackle the home side in the second of their 50-over matches.
After losing the Ashes 3-0, Australia gained a measure of revenge over the Three Lions with a 1-1 Twenty20 series result.
But that is not enough for skipper Michael Clarke who said it is also important for the future of the national side to get back to being the number one team in the world in the 50-over game.
Both teams had games away from their opponents earlier this week as the Aussies belted Scotland by 200 runs, with Aaron Finch (148) and Shaun Marsh (151) starring as they put on an incredible 246-run opening stand to all but assure victory in Edinburgh.
England took on Ireland with a side not featuring several of their bigger names and the decision to rest their stars almost came back to bite them.
However, the favourites fending off the Irish challenge to win by six wickets with 42 balls remaining, thanks largely to the runs from the blades of Eoin Morgan (124 not out) and Ravi Bopara (101 not out).
