Chelsea star finally offered new deal at Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard is to finally sign a new contract to stay at Chelsea for another year, reports the Fulham Chronicle.
The 34 year-old became the Blues’ all time highest goalscorer at the weekend with a fine strike against Aston Villa, which was his 203rd goal in all competitions for the club, overtaking Bobby Tambling to hold the record in his own right.
Lampard signed for Chelsea in 2001, and over the last twelve years has proven himself to be one of the best midfielders in the world, coming second in both the 2005 Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player Of The Year awards to Ronaldinho.
The timing of his runs into the box is a huge part of what has made him a great success, and he has a knack of being in the right place at the right time.
Lampard has won the Premier League three times, the FA Cup four times, the League Cup twice and the UEFA Champions League, and has the chance to win the UEFA Europa League against Benfica.
If only he’d just been able to play alongside Steven Gerrard.
