Uruguayan striker hinted more towards a Real Madrid or Barcelona transfer than a switch to Emirates Stadium.
Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has finally spoken out on the constant transfer rumours linking him with a move elsewhere – with Arsenal, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona all mentioned.
Speaking on Spanish radio station Onda Cero, the Uruguay international claimed he had not heard anything regarding the Gunners, indicating that he has not searched his own name on Twitter in a good few weeks.
“I know nothing about Arsenal’s interest,” said Cavani, with the full interview available on his personal website.
“I have only heard about it now.”
“My future? I have a contract for four years but in football you never know what to expect.”

Real Madrid vs Barcelona tickets are on sale for this massive La Liga clash at the Bernabeu on March 3rd.
Cavani talked at greater length about the two largest teams in Spain – Barcelona and Real Madrid, though that is to be expected given that he was on a Spanish radio show.
“Barcelona and Real Madrid are teams which stimulate the imagination. But I only think about the present.
“I’m living the highest point of my career with Napoli and I want to concentrate on fighting for the scudetto. Along with my team-mates, we want to give a dream for our people.”
If Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in signing Cavani, Arsenal will almost certainly be third favourites for the Uruguayan.
Whilst the Gunners have healthy cash reserves, they are unlikely to be able to compete with the financial muscle of either La Liga club, and the fact that Cavani is a native Spanish speaker might also count against Arsenal.
Regardless, the battle to sign Cavani this summer will certainly be an intriguing one.
