Last year, Arsenal lost Mesut Ozil after he fell out of favour with Mikel Arteta. Now a similar thing seems to be happening with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – another big name and high earner at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners arguably never really replaced Ozil, even if the likes of Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe are making a decent effort of it, and the north London giants need to ensure they don’t make the same mistake with Aubameyang.
Even if the Gabon international has been one of the finest goal-scorers of his generation, he looks a long way past his peak now, and it’s right for Arsenal to take to the market for a replacement.
There’s been talk of Dusan Vlahovic being a top target for Arsenal, but the deal looks complicated due to emerging reports today that the Fiorentina striker is unsure about a move to the Emirates Stadium as other, bigger clubs show an interest.
Could Arsenal instead look to a young Swedish talent as a very fine alternative? It would certainly be interesting to check the odds of it on spelbolagutansvensklicens.co following recent reports that Real Sociedad front-man Alexander Isak has been mentioned as being on their radar. In fact, the 22-year-old could end up being a better option.
For one thing, Isak is expected to cost a lot less, with the player’s release clause at around €90million, but his asking price closer to €50m, whereas Vlahovic is expected to cost more like €80m, while his wages are also expected to be enormous, immediately making him one of the highest paid players in the Premier League.
Isak looks a similarly exciting talent, however, with his scoring record in La Liga looking impressive, while he is arguably more of an all-rounder than Vlahovic as well, with his pace and skill and ability to create goals as well as score them.
And in terms of replacing Ozil, another exciting young Sweden international could also be ideal to come in alongside Isak.
Arsenal have also recently been linked with Juventus misfit Dejan Kulusevski as he struggles for playing time, and he’s another talent who could be worth betting on moving to link up with Mikel Arteta’s side in the near future.
We’ve seen Swedish greats like Freddie Ljungberg, Henrik Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic having spells in England, and these two could be the next big names from that country who could soon be important figures at Arsenal.
