Chelsea have made a relatively lucrative offer to defender Baba Rahman, but he will not likely be heading to Stamford Bridge.
The Ghana international is expected to head to A.S. Roma, according to The Express.
The Blues attempted to reach a deal with FC Augsburg for £10.5m, but the Bundesliga club is refusing to budge until they are offered £18m.
Although Chelsea intended to pay Rahman a deal that amounted to £1.2m-per-year, Roma are creating a deal that would pay the Ghanaian defender £1.5m-per-year.
The Serie A club is also promising Rahman a spot on the first team, and they will be receiving young blood if their desired deal for the defender becomes official.
The 21-year-old came up with four assists for Augsburg in Bundesliga matches, as they finished in fifth place in the 2014-15 standings.
Meanwhile, Roma is hoping to build on their second-place finish in the Serie A standings and dethrone UEFA Champions League runners-up Juventus.
