Chelsea have agreed a two-year loan deal with Serie A giants AC Milan for striker Fernando Torres, the Premier League club have confirmed, with the Spanish international now set to head to Milan for talks and a medical.
Torres has struggled for confidence and form since making the move to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool and will be keen to reignite his career at the San Siro, with a loan deal having been agreed that will take Torres to Milan for the remaining duration of his Blues contract.
He becomes the replacement for former Milan striker Mario Balotelli, who was sold to Liverpool for £16 million last week, and will be expected to help the Milanese club to recover from a nightmare season that saw them fail to qualify for continental competition altogether.
